Cleaning the Most Common Carpet Stains
When it comes to carpet cleaning, there are certain stains that we see come up time and time again, that continue to make customers ask “how can I clean this stain?” We’re going to list a few of the most popular types of carpet stains and ways that you can clean them.
Wine and Juice Stains
If you’re ever spilled red wine or bright juice on a carpet, you’ve probably noticed how stubborn these stains can be. Unless you have a darker red or black color, your carpet is likely to have a bright, bold stain on it that really stands out. To get rid of the stain, start by blotting the spot with a wet towel or cloth. Afterwards, pour some cold water over the spot to help further dilute the stain with water as much as you can. Next, mix water and baking soda and apply it to the stain and wait for the area to dry. Alternatively, if this solution doesn’t work you can try mixing white vinegar with dishwasher soap instead of baking soda and apply the mixture to the area.
Pet Stains
We all love our furry friends. They bring us warmth, companionship, and love – and, unfortunately, unwanted stains. If your pet left something on the carpet you should start by cleaning it up and blotting the area with a wet cloth. Mix white vinegar with lukewarm water and spray it on the spot to moisten the carpet and get rid of unwanted odors in that area.
Blood Stains
While blood stains can be unsettling to look at, they can also be incredibly stubborn to clean and get rid of. To remove blood stains from a carpet try mixing dishwashing detergent with cold water, and use a cloth to dip into the solution and blot (not scrub) the spot with. As an alternative, you can also try mixing baking soda with cold water to dab the spot with.
Coffee Stains
Most of us love coffee for drinking, but once it spills on our carpets, we don’t love it so much anymore. How can you get rid of coffee carpet stains at home? Try mixing white vinegar with detergent and white vinegar with water, and spray the solution on the stain. Blot the spot with a moist cloth and spray again. Continue the process for better results.
While there are plenty of do-it-yourself solutions out there, when it comes to cleaning your carpet (especially after stains), you’re guaranteed to see higher quality results when you work with a professional carpet cleaning company. They have the right equipment, tricks, and techniques to get rid of the most stubborn stains and conduct full carpet cleaning.
